50 days celebration
50 days was celebrated in style with so many children participating and displaying different ways to show half of 100. The girls looked very cool with interesting 1/2 style hair designs and we even had a fairy amongst us (thanks Ashwina). Both boys and girls came to school with 2 different shoes. See if you recognise whose shoes are who.

ANZAC cooking
Friday was our day for cooking and poppy making. Room 1 and 2 throughly enjoyed making these special biscuits and learning about ANZAC day and the significance behind it. We even had some master chefs on board wearing their special aprons ( thanks Piper and Cooper).

Special cuddly toys
We have been discussing the meaning of ANZAC day and how significant and special it is for us and why. Therefore we linked this to how special our cuddly toys are to us and why. We deceided because are so special to us they deserved a trip to school. What an amazing assortment of teddys, rabbits, giraffes, dolls, sting rays, dogs, monsters, muscle man and even buzz light year popped in. The children loved reading stories to their toys and teaching them how to listen to stories on the I-pad.

The dump trip
Finally it was our turn to visit our local dump. Very excited children climbed upon the bus Wednesday morning and began the days adventure. Driving past PaknSave and KFC was the first highlight of the day for many children. Next up, 'the dump' bringing more cries of joy and excitement. What an amazing educational day we all enjoyed, learning so much new information about reduce, reuse and recycle. Room 1 favourite part was the worm farm that we all looked at with magnifying glass and sticks and the cow made out of rubbish bins.

Dr Seuss
What amazing Dr Seuss characters came to Western Heights today. I personally loved the home made costumes what very talented family members you have. As you can see below we had a great day celebrating Dr Seuss birthday. The children especially loved the baking, icing their very own biscuits and making their won creative hats.
